SSBGC Family Reunion
Our Annual Southside Boys & Girls Club Family Reunion is a time where families from our fall and past summer program can get together and enjoy a nice day of good fun, food, and fellowship. It is also a time where parents can register their child(ren) for our Adventure Island Summer Camp 2018. This is an open event so if you are not apart of the SSBGC family then you can become a member that day!

Boys & Girls Club Week 2018
Since 1941, the Boys & Girls Club Movement has celebrated National Boys & Girls Club Week by recognizing the invaluable service Clubs bring to communities and sharing how great futures start at Boys & Girls Clubs. National Boys & Girls Club Week promotes the fact that while Clubs operate on a local community level, they are also part of a growing national Movement. We celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week by showing how our Clubs help kids become anything they want to become.

Spring Break Escape 2018
Come and join us as we have fun for our Spring Break Week. Listed below are the themes for the entire week. Members will also be able to go on 2 field Trips that week. Monday - Opening Day Olympics Tuesday - Tournament Day Wednesday - Great Escape Day Thursday - Pajamas & A Movie Friday - Spring Fling Challenge, Cookout, Easter Egg Hunt, Fashion Show: 5:00pm-6:15pm

Cheerleading - Lady Vikings
Cheerleading practice for our Lady Vikings will be held twice a week. Our Lady Viking will be cheering for Basketball and Flag Football games.

Community Service Projects
At the SSBGC, each member is required to complete 25 hours of Community Service a month to give back to the community. Community Service projects vary from feeding the homeless, can food drives, community clean-ups, and more.
Every Wednesday at 5:30pm & Saturdays
Our Dance teams is trained in jazz, hip-hip, salsa, and praise dance. They will host a recital in May 2018.

Healthy Habit Walk
The Keystone Club promotes character and leadership qualities among club teens; to provide awareness and impact in the areas of community service, academic success and career preparation, the three focus areas of Keystoning. Youth eligible for this program should be between the ages 14 to 18.

Knowledge Hour enables every club member a chance to develop self-directed skills and to be successful in school through homework help and academic support.

Prevention Basketball League
Basketball league for ages 13–18. Participants must attend the prevention workshop of the week prior to playing.

Project Mentoring is a program where our staff and volunteers break up into small group and conduct the Passport to Manhood and Smart Girls Program. Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 8-17. Each Club participant receives his own “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth. Passport to Manhood represents a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions activities that reinforce positive behavior. SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults. These programs are facilitated by staff as well as the Military Fraternity called Kappa Lambda Chi and and Military Sorority called Kappa Epsilon PSI!

Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11-13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation.
