New Look Academy at Southside #whateverittakes

The Southside Boys & Girls Club is here to help!

During such an unprecedented time, the Southside Boys and Girls Club aims to support our communities as best as possible. We’re excited to introduce the New Look Academy to you in hopes that your academic related concerns are eased a bit.

Extended Programming for Virtual Learning

  • Ages 5 to 18

  • Weekly programs fees $50 per week for members age 5-12

  • Meals provided at no additional costs.

  • Requires SSBGC Fall Membership ($75) for all

  • Members must bring their school-provided computer and hotspot to the Club in order to safely log into their virtual learning schoolwork.

  • Mask/face covering required in the Clubs and safety measures must be followed.

  • Extended hours and weekly rates will remain as long as there’s virtual learning.

  • Parents must attend one of the listed Parent Orientation dates.

Students must bring their own electronics from school and the school district will provide hotspots. will provide hotspots.

Members can also log on to Club Wi-Fi and computer terminals for their schoolwork.

Recreation, Arts, Fun!

The Club staff will continue to offer programming including recreation and arts during the day. For members who need care after the virtual school day, the Club is open from

6:30 AM — 6:00 PM.


Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge for students. Those members who stay until the evening will also be served a hot dinner, at no additional charge.

Parent Orientation Dates:

  • Wed. Aug. 26, 6:00pm, Doors open at 5:30pm

  • Sat. Aug. 29, 10:00am, Doors open at 9:30am

  • Wed. Sept. 2, 6:00pm, Doors open at 5:30pm

Fall Club Information Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 6:30am– 6:00pm

  • Virtual Learning Hours 8:00am—3:00pm

  • After School Program 3:00pm– 6:00pm

There will be a limited number of spots available and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Youth will be grouped in pods of no more than 9 kids.

What makes our facility safe?

  • Size, Scale, Scope & Sanitizing:

  • Not transporting any members.

  • Keeping manageable numbers.

  • Keeping members socially distant.

  • We will continue to take temperatures, enforce mask wearing, sanitize hands upon entry and every hour.

  • Will disinfect and clean all contact areas to include bathrooms. hall walls, water fountain handles, lobby areas, counters, and desktops.
